RICHARD BOOTHBY

I make sure the sales process is continually refined so that Switch is always providing the most relevant and collaborative options for our clients, everyday.

What’s your area of expertise / responsibility at Switch?

Sales / Marketing

How did you end up working at Switch?

I got tired of feeling like I was just a number so I made the ‘switch’ to ‘switch’… a place where everyone gets to contribute.

One thing you’d say to the next new hire at Switch?

This won’t be anything like the last place you’ve worked.

The most awesome thing you’ve ever done for a Switch client?

Jumped on a plane and hand delivered a special bottle of Red Wine from one happy client to another!

One of your fondest memories whilst working at Switch?

Hot air ballooning over the Yarra Valley with my colleagues on one of our Switch reward days!

Your favourite thing to do when you’re not working at Switch?

Enjoying endless conversation with my wife over a home cooked meal and a glass of Springflat Shiraz by the fire.

One thing you’ve always wanted to do that hasn’t been ticked off your bucket list?

To fly to Valdez Alaska (with anyone who wants to join me), then setup base in a remote Alpine cabin for one sole purpose. 7 straight days of backcountry heli-boarding in some of the worlds most amazing mountains!

Your favourite movie ever and why?

The Shawshank Redemption! A brilliant movie of triumph over corruption, with a powerful demonstration of a man’s perseverance and strength of character through 20 years for adversity.

Your most treasured possession?

My wife. I love her.

Your 3 tips for an enjoyable holiday?

1. It’s who you’re with more than where you go. 2. Pack as little as possible to travel light and stress no more. 3. Take a baby (or be injured) and enjoy the airport express paths.

If you could be a superhero who would it be and why?

Wolverine. He’s the real deal and seriously… an indestructible adamantium-plated skeleton, regenerative healing and retractable bone claws… what else does one need?

Your favourite quote?

I can’t decide between my 2 favourites, both from Napoleon Hill.
“Every adversity, every failure and every heartache, carries with it the seed of an equivalent or greater Benefit.” and/or “Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”
